UK/CA customers — please see the notes lower on the page concerning VAT and/or DDP shipping.
General Policies
Due to license territorial restrictions, almost all of our titles can only be shipped to destinations in the US and Canada. This includes APO, FPO and US Territories and Possessions (basically, if you've got a US zipcode or Canadian postcode, we can ship to you). North Carolina Residents: we must charge you the sales tax. The exceptions to this rule are Bubblegum Crisis, AD Police Files, Bubblegum Crash, Otaku no Video, and Riding Bean, which can be shipped internationally, with some title-specific restrictions; each product page mentions what these are.
The shopping cart isn't smart enough to know that we can't ship some products outside of the US and Canada, so if you place an order we can't fill, we'll have to remove the invalid items. Sorry!
We try, but do not 100% guarantee, to ship the same day the order is received as long as we get it before the mail gets picked up (usually around lunchtime). If we cannot ship to you for some reason, we will contact you to let you know.
If you have any problems with an order, please email us. We no longer maintain a telephone line due to overwhelming amounts of telemarketing spam.
Domestic US Shipping
If you order 4 or more items, you get FREE USPS Media/1st Class mail shipping on all orders to US destinations. The shipping cost for 1-3 item orders is $3.99. Box sets and our Premium Blu-ray sets get automatically upgraded to free shipping.
Our experience is that USPS does just as good a job as UPS, and since it's much cheaper (for you) and easier (for us), we no longer offer UPS shipping. Also, it lets us ship on Saturdays! On USPS shipments, we do address correction, use ZIP+4, and print barcoded labels. All shipments are tracked and you will get a tracking link emailed to you. If you have some special circumstance for which USPS is not appropriate, please contact us directly and we’ll see what we can work out.
International Shipping (UK/CA customers, see also the specific notes about your countries)
With the exception of UK and Canada (see below), you are responsible for paying any customs duty and taxes on shipments we send you. We provide expedited/international shipping at the following rates:
USPS Priority Mail (2-3 day service) - $1.50/item + $7.95 (US only)
USPS Priority Mail Express (US only; 1-2 day service to mainland destinations, 2-3 day to APO/FPO/AK/HI/PR and possessions) - $49.95 + $3.00/item. Note: due to USPS congestion during the Covid-19 pandemic, we do not recommend using PME, it is unlikely to provide faster service.
USPS International Mail - $3.00/item + $26.95
If your order ends up weighing 8oz or less, it will usually cost us less to send it to you. If so, you’ll get $10 off the shipping.
Since all the permutations are too complex for the shopping cart to handle, we do manual refunds on qualifying orders to adjust the shipping fees.

USPS International Priority Mail - $3.00/item + $49.95. Please be aware that Priority Mail usually averages only a few days faster than regular International mail, although it can be more consistent. We recommend using it only when time is of the essence — but there are no guarantees when it comes to how long a package can be delayed by customs clearance.
Canadian Shipping
We will ship from the USA using Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) shipping, so customs duty and fees are all prepaid by us (and are folded into the shipping fee — alas, there is no free lunch, just a slightly more convenient one).
UK Shipping
The website will charge you VAT, which we will remit to His Majesty’s Infernal Revenue. You should not be charged any additional customs duty or fees on your orders.
International Shipping Discounts
We aim to break-even on shipping costs. Occasionally, an international order will slide in just under a weight boundary and result in shipping expenses significantly less than the amount charged by the shopping cart. If so, we’ll proactively issue a partial refund on your order to bring the S&H fee in line with our actual costs.
My International Package just got delivered to somewhere in the USA! What’s going on?
We use GlobalPost for most international deliveries in order to address international mail disruptions, in particular for European destinations. These deliveries first get sent to a processing center in the USA, then shipped by air to the destination country, and then turned over to the local post office for final delivery.
Use the tracking link provided by Stamps.com (when we print the label) as opposed to the one provided by the website (when we finish processing your order). It will automatically update when GlobalPost transfers your package internationally.
How long will it take for me to get my stuff?
You can determine the estimated delivery dates for USPS shipments by using their Service Commitments Calculator. Our origination zipcode is 28409. Media Mail is considered a Package Service.
Customers in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US Possessions & Territories and APO/FPO - Important Note
Media Mail delivery to locations outside the Mainland United States can take several weeks. If time is of the essence, strongly consider Priority Mail.
Shipping Ninja Upgrades
Under certain circumstances, our Shipping Ninjas may upgrade Media Mail to 1st Class or even Priority Mail and even add a top-secret bonus item to your order. It works like this:
Most of our titles qualify for Media Mail, but a few of them have components that mean that they have to go 1st Class, but...
...if the total weight is more than 15.99 oz, then they have to go Parcel Select, however...
...for certain weights, package sizes and destinations, Priority Mail (and in particular, the flat-rate options) is actually cheaper, and...
...if we send flat rate, then the weight doesn't matter, and there's occasionally space to add the top-secret bonus item to the shipment, which...
...makes you very happy, and you tell all your friends, and thus we get more orders, and so...
...we don't have to go out and get real jobs.
Of course, as with all Ninja-related activities, you will never see it coming. If you do get a bonus item, feel free to tell your friends that you did -- but not what it was, because it's top-secret, after all!
Coupons
From time to time, we publish discount coupon codes on our Twitter feed. Unless otherwise stated, these discounts are usable once per customer, and have a time limit.
To use a coupon code, enter it in the "Enter discount codes" box on the checkout page, then click the "Calculate Discounts" button below the box. This box is just under the billing and shipping address areas on the page.
Payment
The shopping cart accepts credit cards (via Stripe) and PayPal.
We also accept checks and money orders through the mail; just use the online shopping cart to figure out the price, then print a copy of it and include it with payment. We will ship when your payment clears. The address to mail your order to is: AnimEigo, 6810 Finian Drive, Wilmington NC 28409 USA.
Returns / Warranty Replacements
If we send you the wrong stuff, or there's a problem with it, contact us within 30 days and we'll arrange to fix it. After 30 days, returns and replacements are at our discretion, but we're pretty soft-hearted about it. If you ordered the wrong stuff, let us know, send it back (unopened products only -- it's got to be in suitable condition for restocking), and we'll refund the purchase price (less shipping, which often was free anyway).
